  • GEM Co., Ltd was founded on December 28th, 2001 in Shenzhen, and successfully landed SME board of Shenzhen stock exchange(SZSE) in January 2010 (SZSE stock code: 002340). The total stock issue is 4.151 billion shares with net assets of 9.922 billion yuan and more than 5,000 full-time employees.
    GEM has invested 10 billion yuan cumulatively over the last more than one decade, and has established sixteen recycling industrial parks which cover 10 provinces/districts in China, including Guangdong, Hubei, Jiangxi, Henan, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang, Hunan and Durban in South Africa.
    Currently, GEM has built seven E-waste Green Processing Centers, six ELV Recycling Processing Centers, five Waste Batteries and Power Battery Material Re-manufacturing Centers, three Waste Plastic Recycling Centers, three Hazardous Solid Waste Processing Centers, two Hard Alloy Tool Re-manufacturing Centers, two Rare and Scattered Metal Recycling Processing Centers, one ELV Spare Part Re-manufacturing Center and one Power Battery Pack Ladder-level Reuse Center. GEM has also built five industrial chains, which respectively are the used batteries and power battery recycling industry chain, the cobalt, nickel and tungsten resources recycling and hard alloy industry chain, the WEEE recycling industry chain, ELV comprehensive utilization industry chain and the waste residue, waste mud, and waste water recycling industry chain.
    GEM recycles over 3,000,000 tons of waste resources annually. The annual recycling amount of waste compact batteries accounts for more than 10% of the total in China. The amount of the annual recovery of cobalt resources is comparable to that of the original cobalt exploitation in China. The amount of annual recovery of tungsten resources accounts for 8% of China's original tungsten exploitation. The amount of annual recovery of germanium accounts for 6% of the world’s germanium production. The amount of annual recycling and re-manufacturing of cathode materials for lithium ion batteries accounts for more than 20% of the Chinese market. The amount of annual recycling WEEE, which is more than ten million, accounts for 15% of the total in China. The amount of annual processing waste PCB accounts for more than 20% of the total in China. GEM recycles and re-manufactures 25 rare resources including cobalt, nickel, copper, tungsten, gold, silver, palladium, rhodium, germanium, indium and rare earth, and also produces high-tech products such as ultra-fine powder, new energy vehicle power battery materials, WPC, constructing China’s most complete rare metal resources recycling industry chain.
    The national WEEE recycling engineering technology research center was built relying on GEM. GEM was successively awarded National Circular Economy Pilot Enterprise, Advanced Unit in Circular Economy, National Circular Economy Educational Demonstration Base, National "Urban Mining" Demonstration Base, National Technology Innovation Demonstration Enterprise, National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise and National Middle and Primary School Environmental Educational Social Practice base, etc. GEM has become an excellent practitioner of China's green development concept.
